Halftime performances have always been one of the in-game events that are anticipated by fans, after taking in the awesome action played against fighting teams. Particularly in Super Bowl, these said shows are prepared by best and remembered even better, thanks to the singers, bands, and dancers that make the show colorful, lively, and interesting. 10. The Who
The Who has performed on Super Bowl XLIV in 2010 and have rendered songs like “Pinball Wizard”, “Baba O’Riley”, “Who Are You”, “See Me, Feel Me”, and “Won’t Get Fooled Again” where three of the songs have been famous from the CSI series. The stage is one of a kind where it plays amazing light animations that help with the mood of the band.
9. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
The halftime was nicely introduced by both Steelers and Cardinals players and coaches in 2009, where they have mentioned the E Street Band as a “heart-stopping, fun-loving, hard-rocking, booty-shaking, love-making, Super Bowl-quaking, history-making” legendary group. Also performing with them is Bruce Springsteen, where they have sung “Tenth Avenue Freeze-Out”, “Born to Run”, “Working on a Dream”, and “Glory Days” all performed with high energy. 8. Shania Twain, No Doubt, and Sting
The Raiders and the Buccaneers rested the halftime away with Shania Twain, No Doubt, and Sting performing on Super Bowl XXXVII in 2003, singing their songs separately. Shania Twain sang first with “Man! I Feel Like a Woman!” and “Up”, Gwen Stefani with “Just a Girl”, and Sting with “Message in a Bottle”. No Doubt made the song special as the lead singer personalized some lyrics with “I’m just a girl at the Super Bowl”.
7. Paul McCartney
Super Bowl XXXIX, which occurred in February 6, 2005, was able to see the halftime performance of a former Beatles member, Paul McCartney, all thanks to the show’s producer, Don Mischer Productions, and its sponsor, Ameriquest Mortgage. He sang hits like “Drive My Car”, “Get Back”, and “Hey Jude”, including one of his songs from Wings, “Live and Let Die”. Aside from the great music that creates the bridge between past and present, another part of the show that can be nice to view is the X Stage that shows excellent creativity.

MTV is known to house in the best music videos and direct some of the best shows, and they have proved it again as they sponsored the halftime show at Super Bowl XXXV in 2001.Aside from having Aerosync, or N’Smith, in the show, comedians like Adam Sandler, Chris Rock, and Ben Stiller have introduced the halftime. The show even got more star jam-packed when Britney Spears, Nelly, Mary J. Blige, and Tremors also got in, singing songs like “Jaded”, “I Don’t Wanna Miss a Thing”, “Bye, Bye, Bye”, “It’s Gonna be Me”, and “Walk This Way”.
5. Rolling Stones
The match between the Seahawks and the Steelers were graced by The Rolling Stones during the halftime performance as sponsored by Sprint in Super Bowl XL dated February 5, 2006. Songs performed include “Start Me Up”, “Rough Justice”, and “Satisfaction”. A few of the highlights of the show was when the tongue in the Rolling Stones stage rolled off, revealing lots of people underneath. But what made this memorable is the 5-second delay of the audio, which was applied on TV, censoring a few words off on some of the songs.
4. Black Eyed Peas, Slash, and Usher
The performance made by the Black Eyed Peas is one of the best shows in Super Bowl history when considering overall presentation on the field, thanks to dancers that have space suits with lights all over them. Even the Black Eyed Peas are getting along the space and lights theme that Taboo has a costume that has moving lights on it. Slash played the guitar with “Sweet Child of Mine” and Usher sang “OMG”.
3. Prince
The artist currently known as Prince has sung so many songs at Super Bowl XLI in 2007, including “We Will Rock You”, “Let’s Go Crazy”, “Baby, I’m a Star”, “Proud Mary”, “All Along the Watchtower”, “Best of You”, and closing the halftime performance with “Purple Rain”. Despite that viewers surrounding the stage have been wet after the number, everyone was pleased to note that this has been one of the best performances ever. However, this was not the only event that made the show worth remembering, was the silhouette at the end of the show where the guitar was placed at a wrong place, making it look like a male’s private part.
2. Janet Jackson, Justin Timberlake, Jessica Simpson, Nelly, P. Diddy, Kid Rock
Despite of the many names, stars, and celebrities included in this halftime presentation that has been sponsored by AOL for Super Bowl XXXVIII in 2004, what made this performance as one of the most memorable is the fiasco that happened between Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake. What was supposed to be a part of the program, ended up a disaster as Justin sang “I’m gonna have you naked by the end of this song” and unintentionally taking off some sensitive parts on Janet’s costume.

At the wake of the incident at 9/11, which was 6 months before Super Bowl XXXVI, the world has been a witness of one of the worst terrorist attacks that have been covered in TV. In remembrance of the said tragic event, U2 has performed a memorial performance that made the said halftime show as the most favorite performance in all of Super Bowl History. With song choices like “Beautiful Day”, “MLK”, and even “Where the Streets Have no Name”, Bono and the rest of the group sang for America, with fitting lyrics, names of remembered people, and an American Flag at the back of Bono’s shirt.
